Terre Verte Art & Jewellery
Gayle Howard Designer
Hello
I almost forgot to mention my hand made jewellery. I got the idea to make wearable art so I began to experiment with small slices of wood, finishing them with sparkling ink and mounting my miniature paintings on them. By adding in sparkling crystals and pearls I ended up with one of a kind Pendants and Earrings.
Hello
I am Gayle Howard and I grew up doing all kinds of Art. I attended an Art School Sponsored by the goverment of Alberta Canada. I applied to get in and 10 of us were choosen. I spent more than 1000 hours of classes.
Our instructor was European and he practised fine and commercial art. In the classroom we students were supplied with everything. We had all the paper we needed, watercolour paints and brushes, drawing pencils and pens, ink of different colours and wooden paint boxes to hold everything.
Our assignments were given out and we practiced the whole day at our individual art boards and stools.
Learning to do calligraphy for eventual sign painting and documents was pretty grueling but we did accomplish our goals and some of us became excellent in our skills.
After I graduated I became a free lance sign painter, calligrapher and painter using, watercolour, oil paint and pencil sketching.
I did some pretty big signs and one was 48 feet long by 4 feet deep. That took me a while. I also painted signs for restaurants and Camping sites.
Most of the years through having my children I painted and sold watercolour works and Oil paintings in galleries.
This is a pretty boring write up but I have had an exciting few years.
I started doing the coloured pencil drawings because they weren't messy and I could quickly set up my art board and I am hocked for now.
So, enjoy all the pages of my site and don't forget to write me a quick email to tell me about yourself and share some feedback.
